Annual Roof Sit Bowl-a-thon ~ February 27th ~ Richland Lanes

Community Healing Centers is hosting their third Annual Roof Sit Bowl-a-thon at Richland Lanes on February 27.  The bowling pledge form is available on line – and you can download a PDF copy here.  The actual event starts at 1 p.m., which registration starting at 12:30 p.m.  Please let us know if you are forming a team so that we can have enough bowling lanes for everyone.   Last year the Bowl-a-thon raised just over $3,200 and we are hoping to raise $4,000 this year -  the goal is for a team to raise $200 among the 4 bowler.  And, we have commemorative bowling towels and some great prizes.

Roof Sit Sweeper Tournament

The first two weeks in February, The Community Healing Centers are working with the Kalamazoo Bowling Proprietors to host ;a two week-long Roof Sit Sweeper Tournament.  Throughout these two weeks, league bowlers will participate by donating $2 for a chance to enter their nightly scores in a tournament competition.  At six bowling centers  the top male and top female from each center will then participate in a roll-off tournament along with up to 36 other qualifying bowlers.  The participating centers include: Airway Lanes, Continental Lanes, Richland Lanes, Eastland Bowl Lanes, Plainwell Lanes, and Holiday Lanes.  

Tournament Director, Terry Brockelbank, says “The Sweeper Tournament is an event that provides  an opportunity for our area league bowlers to participate and support programs that treat and prevent child abuse at the Community Healing Centers. The sweeper tournament is our way to give back to the community and support children who need our help and our attention. We are all happy to be able to help “strike out child abuse.”

Mandy Miller, a supporter of Roof Sit and dedicated volunteer says “The Roof Sit Bowl-a-thon is a great way for families and children to come together to raise money to strike-out child abuse.  I know firsthand the affects of child abuse and I will do everything in my power to strike it out.  Bowling is simply a fun way to throw the first strike.  I hope you join me on February 27!”
